YCK2 Young Journalist Series 3: Interview of Dr Ko Wing-man BBS JP余二小記者系列之三：訪問高永文局長

On 6th March 2017, around 20 students from F1 to F4 went to interview Dr Ko Wing-man BBS JP, the Secretary for Food and Health, at Central Government Offices. He shared with us how he became a doctor in 1981 and a government official in 2010.

When we asked him what the most impressive thing in his career was, he reflected his voluntary work as an orthopedic practitioner in a rehabilitation centre in Sichuan in 2008. He was impressed by the patients there. Some of them were young but remains optimistic during the treatments. Recalling the memories from his mother, Dr Ko also shared his journey to his hometown - Chaozhou and how he searched back his root there.

At the end of the interview, Dr Ko encouraged us to review our competitiveness under the globalisation era where there are many opportunities over the world. Besides, we should have the positive attitude with hardship in order to prepare for the challenges ahead.
