“Thy Kingdom Come: Field Trip of Hong Kong’s Religious Culture”

On 25 April 2024 (Thu), the CHS (together with the Society of Chinese Historical Studies), CSD, and RS Departments jointly organised the “Thy Kingdom Come: Field Trip of Hong Kong’s Religious Culture”. Led by Mr PT Chan of and Ms Annette Hon, the objective of the activity was to enhance S4 students' understanding of local religious culture, and to strengthen their identification of Hong Kong citizenship, through visiting the Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and the Cathedral of St. John of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (Anglican Church). During the visit to the Hong Kong Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Ms Han Yan explained the history of the Cathedral and its facilities; At St John's Cathedral, we were honoured to have the Reverend Amos Poon Ching Hang, explain the relationship between the Cathedral and the history of Hong Kong, and the characteristics of the Anglican Faith, which echoed the current trend of the ecumenical movement in Hong Kong.
